On March 11, with the cutterhead of the shield machine slowly turning, the right line shield machine of Changchun Metro Line 5 Liugong District Project Cultural Square Station ~ Gongnong Road Station of China Railway Second Bureau Chengtong Company was successfully launched, marking that the project has entered the double-line tunneling stage and laid a solid foundation for the subsequent project construction.

The total length of the right line between Cultural Square Station ~ Gongnong Road Station is 1260 meters, the minimum turning radius of the section is 350m, the maximum design longitudinal slope is 24‰, and the buried depth at the top of the tunnel is 17.99m~20.85m. After the shield machine is assembled from the wellhead of the small mileage end of the Cultural Square Station, the overall air thrust is moved forward to the starting point of the underground excavation section and passes through the C1 entrance and exit of Line 2, and is received, disassembled, translated and hoisted out in the cross-channel of the large mileage end of the Gongnong Road Station.

In order to ensure the smooth progress of the shield on the right line of the section, the project department carefully completed the preliminary planning work such as the maintenance and transformation of the shield machine and the temporary construction of the site, and carried out a comprehensive combing of the conditions for the shield launch and crossing the risk sources before the launch, formulated safe and effective countermeasures for various construction risks, optimized the construction plan and resource allocation, and coordinated the orderly progress of each process. After unremitting efforts, the project successfully overcame the problems of installation and commissioning in extremely cold weather, translation in the station, shield attitude positioning in the small space of the underground excavation channel, and installation and reinforcement of the reaction system, and successfully passed the acceptance of the shield launch conditions on March 10, 2024, and fulfilled the owner's node goal on schedule.

At present, the preparations for the construction of the risk source of the right line shield machine between the Cultural Square Station ~ Gongnong Road Station and the C1 entrance and exit of Line 2 have been completed, and the construction safety measures have been put in place, and the construction site management, operators, machinery and equipment, raw materials, construction technology and construction environment meet the construction requirements. During the follow-up construction period, the project department will strictly implement the 24-hour on-duty shift system to ensure the safe and stable progress of the shield machine and achieve the interval breakthrough on schedule.
